Picture

A resident of Berkeley, California, Artemizia (Zia) Walker-Chinoy began her career caring for dogs with Wag Hotel as a summer assistant in 2011. Since 2013, Artemizia (Zia) Walker-Chinoy has been the chief dog whisperer for Walkers Walks & Pet Care.

As a Wag Hotel summer assistant, Ms. Walker-Chinoy walked and exercised dogs, fed them, and communicated with vacationing dog owners by video link. In 2013, she also worked as an assistant for two dog-centered organizations - Milo Foundation and Metro Dog. At Milo Foundation, she started by providing basic care to abused and abandoned dogs and then was given the additional responsibility of preparing dogs for adoption. At Metro Dog, first as an intern and then as an employee, she provided a range of care services.

Ms. Walker-Chinoy began walking dogs as a self-employed owner of Walker's Walks & Pet Care. In this role, she walks dogs individually and in groups. She also offers pet sitting, leash manners, and behavior training. She has expertise in working with pet owners to train difficult pets, abused dogs, puppies, and pets new to the family. Her clients describe her as a gifted dog whisperer.

While walking dogs for her business, Ms. Walker-Chinoy also worked for Mudpuppy's, a dog-washing outfit, from 2015 to 2018. Her specialty was working with frightened dogs and geriatric dogs.

Ms. Walker-Chinoy is knowledgeable regarding both well-known and lesser-known dog breeds for her client base in the Berkeley area. She is experienced working with pets that have special needs.
